Edzard Onneken was born in Karachi in 1965 and has lived in Berlin since 1981. He started shooting short films in 1987. In 2005, he was nominated at the Rose d'Or Festival in Lucerne for Meine Schönsten Jahre, and in 2006 for Türkisch für Anfänger.
