2008 : The Africa Festival has been taking place for 19 years and it has become Europe's biggest festival for African music and culture. Over the last 19 years more than 1,400,000 visitors form Germany and other foreign countries have come to Wuerzburg's Mainwiesen to witness the cultural wealth of Africa and to participate in Africa's zest for life.
Because of its great success in Germany, the Africa Festival has now found a few copiers of varying quality. To avoid confusion, the name and logo are now licensed. The dancing figures with the name Africa Festival will not only now, but also in the future be a guarantee of a high quality in music and background program.
